As a free-lancer in an evolving market, I’m constantly monitoring the music biz and what it has to offer. Within my research I found something great that those who reside in the Baltimore and surrounding areas can especially appreciate.
What is Charm City Radio?
Okay. So for those of you who don’t know, (like myself a few minutes ago), Baltimore was nicknamed in 1975 by the influence of Mayor Schaefer and a clever team of advertisers. A city with nothing to really show for but its potential at the time was soon to be called “Charm City”. THANKS BALTIMORE SUN! You can read more on that here if you wish.
Charm City Radio is a free internet station founded by Matt Davis that features bands from Baltimore and the surrounding areas.
Who is Matt Davis?
Matt Davis is a DJ, comedian, performer, entertainer, hypnotist, adventurist, and businessman from the Baltimore area – A 20(ish) year veteran of local radio station 98 Rock (97.9FM). He was the noise in the basement guy… that’s how I knew of him. Matt may have leaped into a whole new world outside of Charm City, but he never forgot where he came from. Matt is now operating a platform that is further bringing the local Baltimore music scene together.
